Eagle Bronze Foundry

After leaving Cody, we headed to Lander, WY for several days. Dave had to make a side trip to Wyoming Whiskey, but we eventually arrived.  A friend had suggested we drive up to Sinks Canyon, so that was our first stop once we finally made it to Lander.

Water comes down a fast moving stream, enters this cave and then disappears.  Dye tests furnished proof that the water then reappears in a quiet pond on the other side of the Canyon.  This pond was populated by some of the largest fish I have ever seen.  Many were over two feet long!  Unfortunately no fishing was allowed, so they won't be dinner anytime soon.

Another interesting stop while in Lander, WY was the Eagle Bronze Foundry.

We had a tour showing all the stages of the process.  It was very interesting to see the artists at work. Large sculptures were molded, divided into sections, cast and then welded back together.

This is an extremely large sculpture, several stories high.  Look at the height of the doorways at the bottom back of the building to get an idea of the enormity of this piece of art.
